Proofs
Proofs are available from full rolls of 35mm, 645, 6x6 and 6x7 negative film
only at the time of processing. All proofs are printed borderless, E or
F surface from the largest proportional negative area. Color proofs are
carefully printed with electronic negative analysis, however some color
and density variations may occur depending on subject matter and exposure
of the negatives. Proofs are intended to give an indication of the printing
characteristics and subject matter of the negatives. They are not intended
to be used as saleable prints or for reproduction.
Proof Sheets
Proof sheets are printed from the entire roll of film (if possible) at one
time and therefore will receive an average exposure. If the negatives have
consistent density and color balance this will work fine, however if there
are variations in density or color balance the proof sheet will show this
variation.
Reproofs
Reproofs are available under the same circumstances as proofs at a time after
the film is processed. Reproofs are available only from 35mm, 645, 6x6
and 6x7 negatives. If a proof sheet is ordered under this category
wide variations in color and density may result if there is a wide variation
in the negatives being printed.
Color Machine Prints
Color machine prints are printed from 35mm, 645, 6x6 and 6x7 negatives. The
prints are printed from the largest proportional negative area appropriate
for the size of the print. The negatives are electronically analyzed and color corrected to produce
a top quality color print on E or F surface paper. Excellent color balance
is possible to achieve, but dodging, burning, cropping and specific color
balancing are not within the realm of machine prints.
